What does a VPS cost per month in each city, size by size?

By median, Singapore was the least expensive of the three cities at every size, and Hong Kong was never the least expensive by either measure. Each row takes one plan per host, its least expensive comparable plan of at least that size. Comparable means: crypto accepted for the VPS, no ID document at signup, an IPv4 address included, payable month to month, shown in stock, at least 1 TB of traffic a month on a port of 100 Mbit/s or more, and no China-optimised route.

Every plan costs the same in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. Each price was set against a named plan sold in one of the three cities on 2 November 2026: Singapore for Ink, Vermilion and Gilt, Tokyo for Ember.

How was the Asia VPS Price Index built?

Every price was read on 2 November 2026 on the host's own public pages, with no account, no order and no payment.

  • Coverage: 35 hosts and 5 mainstream clouds.
  • Pool: 18 hosts accept crypto for a VPS and ask for no ID document at signup, with the evidence noted for each. 12 had a comparable plan: Servury, Servers.Guru, KoDDoS, VSYS Host, Ultahost, MonoVM, 1Gbits, is*hosting, WebHorizon, GreenCloud, HostDare, ExtraVM.
  • Comparable plan: IPv4 included, month to month, not a first-term promotion, shown in stock, KVM or not stated, at least 1 TB a month, a port of 100 Mbit/s or more when stated, no China-optimised route, no managed or panel bundle.
  • Sizes: minimum vCPU / RAM / disk, five steps from 1 / 1 / 20 to 8 / 16 / 320.
  • Left out: 103 rows sold on China-optimised routes; WebHorizon's "Singapore" plans, which its own knowledge base places in Johor, Malaysia (how to check where a VPS is located); plans shown out of stock; SurferCloud plans on a 30 Mbit/s port; prices taken from archives rather than the host.
  • Currency: USD; 1 EUR = 1.1172 USD (ECB reference rate of 30 October 2026).

How often is the index updated?

The prices are re-read about once a month, and each table carries the date of its reading. No date is promised for the next reading. Hosts change prices, stock and promotions between readings, so a figure older than a month is a guide to the market rather than a quote.
