The questions people ask before they pay: price and billing, the server itself, the network, payment, and what an account without KYC does and does not hide.

**Quick answer — What should I know before ordering a Lacquerbay VPS?**

**Lacquerbay** sells Linux KVM VPS in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo at one price per plan: $3.75 to $13.50 a month on a 12-month term, as of 2 November 2026. You pay in crypto with no ID, a person builds the VPS within 24 hours, vCPU are shared, traffic is 1 to 4 TB a month, and there are no backups or free trial.

## Price and billing

### How much does a VPS cost?

Ink $3.75 a month on a 12-month term ($5.35 month to month), Ember $4.49 a month on a 12-month term ($6.42 month to month), Vermilion $8.25 a month on a 12-month term ($11.78 month to month), Gilt $13.50 a month on a 12-month term ($19.28 month to month). Nothing is charged to set a VPS up: you pay the price of the rental length you chose, at the first order and at each renewal. The [pricing page](https://lacquerbay.com/pricing/ "Lacquerbay plans and prices") lists every rental length.

### Why does a 12-month rental cost less per month?

Rent a VPS for 1 month, 3 months (10% off), 6 months (20% off) or 12 months (30% off). A longer length costs the monthly price times 3, 6 or 12, minus its discount, rounded down to the cent: Ember is $17.33 for 3 months, $30.81 for 6 months and $53.92 for 12 months. A renewal repeats the same length at the price of your order, unless you pick another length for the next renewal in the dashboard.

### Is the price the same in every city?

Yes. Every plan costs the same in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. Each price was set against a named plan sold in one of the three cities on 2 November 2026: Singapore for Ink, Vermilion and Gilt, Tokyo for Ember.

### How was the price set?

One price per plan in all three cities. On a 12-month term, each plan is priced at least 25% under a named reference plan (prices read on 2 November 2026): Ink against VSYS Host's “VS-NVME1-1” in Singapore at $5.00 a month; Ember against WebHorizon's “EPYC-KVM-3GB” in Tokyo at $6.00 a month; Vermilion against VSYS Host's “VS-NVME2-4” in Singapore at $11.00 a month; Gilt against VSYS Host's “VS-NVME4-8” in Singapore at $18.00 a month. A reference has to be comparable and on sale in Hong Kong, Singapore or Tokyo at a host that accepts crypto and asks for no ID at signup: at least the same vCPU, RAM and disk, an IPv4 address included, payable month to month, in stock, at least 1 TB of traffic a month on a port of 100 Mbps or more, and no China-optimised route. Such a plan was on sale at 12 hosts (Servury, Servers.Guru, KoDDoS, VSYS Host, Ultahost, MonoVM, 1Gbits, is*hosting, WebHorizon, GreenCloud, HostDare, ExtraVM); for each plan the reference is the comparable one with the smallest monthly price among them, in whichever of the three cities it is sold. Left out: SporeStack asks new accounts for a first deposit of $1,000; BitLaunch publishes no price for its Asian servers; CryptoVPS.host does not state that an IPv4 address is included; Cloudzy showed every Asian plan as sold out; Server.HK sells only China-optimised routes there; SurferCloud caps the port of its Asian plans at 30 Mbps; Evoxt does not state that an IPv4 address is included. We do not claim to be the cheapest at every size: the 25% gap applies to the 12-month term, and a monthly rental costs a little more than its reference.

### What does a comparable VPS cost elsewhere?

According to Lacquerbay's price index of 2 November 2026, the median comparable 1 vCPU / 1 GB / 20 GB plan of a crypto host with no ID check cost $7.50 a month in Singapore, $11.50 in Tokyo and $13.74 in Hong Kong. The [Asia VPS price index](https://lacquerbay.com/asia-vps-price-index/ "How much does a VPS cost per month in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo?") gives every size and city.

### Is there a free trial?

There is no free trial: the smallest plan, Ink, is $5.35 for one month, or $3.75 a month on a 12-month term.

## The server

### What kind of VPS is it?

Linux virtual servers on KVM in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo: each VPS boots its own kernel, and you hold root over SSH. vCPU are shared: your virtual cores run on physical cores that other VPS on the same host also use. The memory and the NVMe space of your plan are set aside for your VPS alone.

### Which systems can I install?

Debian 13, Debian 12, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, AlmaLinux 10, Rocky Linux 10. Linux only, installed from our own images: Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux. Windows is not offered.

### How do I log in?

Root over SSH is yours. Paste a public key at checkout and password login stays switched off; leave the field empty and the team sets a temporary root password, shown in your dashboard, which you replace with passwd at first login.

### Are backups included?

Backups are not part of any plan: keep your own copies of whatever you cannot afford to lose.

### Can I reboot or reinstall it myself?

Reboots, reinstalls and deletions are requested in the dashboard and carried out by a person; a reinstall wipes the disk.

## The network

### How much traffic is included?

Ink 1 TB, Ember 2 TB, Vermilion 3 TB and Gilt 4 TB a month. Every VPS gets one IPv4 address of its own and an IPv6 /64. Each plan states its monthly traffic in terabytes, counted on outbound data; traffic past that allowance is never billed automatically. Every plan sits on a 1 Gbit/s port shared with the other VPS of the same host.

### Where is the server?

Your VPS runs in a data centre inside the city you choose, on IP addresses registered to that territory (HK, SG or JP in the regional registry whois). A VPS has data-centre IP addresses: we make no promise about how IP location databases, streaming services or other websites classify them.

### Do you sell China-optimised routes?

No. We do not sell China-optimised routes such as CN2 GIA or CMI: every VPS leaves on ordinary international transit.

### Can I send email from the VPS?

Outbound SMTP on port 25 is blocked on every VPS and is not opened on request; send mail through a provider on port 465 or 587.

### Is there DDoS protection?

No DDoS mitigation is promised beyond what the data centre network filters by default.

## Payment and account

### Which coins do you accept?

BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. The minimum top-up is $25. Every incoming payment is screened against public sanctions lists of blockchain addresses, and money from a listed address is not credited.

### What happens to money left on my balance?

Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your VPS. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it.

### Do I need ID, a card or a phone number?

No. No KYC: we ask for no identity document, no selfie, no card and no phone number. An account number is your whole login; an email address is optional.

### Does no KYC mean nobody can know who I am?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. No KYC does not make you invisible: each payment stays on a public blockchain, our records tie your account number to your orders and VPS addresses, and the data centre network carries your VPS traffic.

### Who can use the service?

You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Residents and companies of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, mainland China, Yemen and Western Sahara, and of the occupied regions of Ukraine, cannot use the service.

### Can I get a refund?

When a VPS cannot be delivered, or stops running and support cannot bring it back, the days lost are credited to your balance. A balance never expires. Top-ups are not cashed out unless a law demands it, except the amount added only to reach the minimum top-up: ask within 30 days of paying and, if unspent, it is returned in USDT or USDC. Details and examples are in the [refund policy](https://lacquerbay.com/refunds/ "When Lacquerbay credits days back").

## Six more questions before you order

### How fast is a VPS delivered?

A person on the team builds each VPS by hand once your payment is confirmed, within 24 hours; the dashboard shows its progress, then the IP address.

### Can I pay for a year up front?

Yes. On a 12-month term Ink costs $44.94 for the year, $3.75 a month.

### Are the vCPU dedicated?

No. vCPU are shared: your virtual cores run on physical cores that other VPS on the same host also use. The memory and the NVMe space of your plan are set aside for your VPS alone.

### Can I change city after ordering?

A VPS keeps its city. Order a new one in the other city, move your data, then delete the first; the price is the same in all three.

### What if my account number is lost?

The account number is the only key to your account, so keep it somewhere safe. An email on file lets you recover it; without one, a lost number cannot be restored.

### How do I reach support?

Write to support@lacquerbay.com. A person answers support emails within 12 hours, seven days a week, including help with SSH keys, reinstalls and firewall rules. The [contact page](https://lacquerbay.com/contact/ "Reach Lacquerbay support or report abuse") says what to include.
